Quit Method:
Think of all the Money You Save
I am currently in the early stages of smokefree living, having had my last cigarette
and cigar (I am addicted to tobacco products of any kind) on January 5th, 1998. I have
quit numerous times over the years and often told myself I could smoke cigars or a pipe
without an addiction, but eventually I start to inhale & return to the same old
addictive problem I had to begin with. So I will never smoke anything again. My strategy
is to focus on how much tax money I am screwing the government out of by not smoking. My
habits cost me approx. $4.00/day. Every day when I get up I concentrate on how much money
I have screwed the government out of to date. As of today I have saved $76.00 by not
smoking and these are after-tax dollars. I am an avid hunter and intend to spend all of my
savings on a big game hunt in Alberta in Nov of 1999. By the time I start hunting there I
will have saved approx $2700.00 most of it tax money the government will now have to raise
from someone else!
I would appreciate email support from other recent quitters. Hope this method helps
someone else to focus on the BIG QUIT.
